A Few New Year's Resolutions Early

Hi there...today I am sitting here, watching my students take their finals and I realized that I have a few New Year's Resolutions to make...

First, I need to make sure I am here more.  I have finally calendared the days I need to blog.  I know that sounds silly to some, but for me I live and die by a calendar and if it isn't on there, it probably doesn't get done.  I think that has to do with being a teacher.  Since I have to lesson plan on a daily basis, making an outline, getting powerpoints created or things copied, or examples done, I have become very calendar oriented.  So when it comes to something like this, if it isn't written down I don't get to it.  Now that I have it written down, I shall...


Next, I need to find a market.  While I have some amazing friends who stand by me, I don't sell a whole lot outside of them. Despite the fact that those who receive my products love them.  They aren't expensive, and I don't take forever to make...so I am not sure what is happening.  I just know that I need to figure out a few things to make the business worth the time.

Also, I need to move about a bit.  I have become a chair potato.  With the  new puppy it should be easier, but even with winter I need to doing something.  My mood, my attitude and my body are all suffering with this new me...and I don't like it, or her very much.

With all of that said...some great things have happened.  I did a gift basket for a charity giveaway, that was lots of fun and got lots of exposure...

Updated Sites

Hello Everyone!!!!

I have updated both the Etsy and the Yola Sites.  I am excited for Summer to be here in the hopes I can devote more time and energy to the business.  It is something both Karl and I really want to do and we are excited to have the time to do it.

I am so excited to be offering Apple Cinnamon as a new scent.  I am getting ready to make up my nieces' care packages in this scent including candles and lotion and gel.  Once the packages are ready to go I will be posting lots of fun pictures.

In an effort to make things move faster I have ordered Business Cards!!!! Look out world, I'm for real now.  If you are interested in having a few to pass out and around just send me an email and let me know.

Not only will they be going into the packages we sell and send out, but I am going to be leaving them all sorts of places and would be happy to have you do the same.

Come See What We Have...

Updating Etsy today with all the new scents and the candles. Come by and see what we have.  Remember too follow the blog so you are updated on all the great things happening.

I shipped a nice package up to Canada recently, so I do ship internationally...you don't have to be States bound to order from me.

After we move...well maybe before...I am putting together some Apple Cinnamon candles and scrubs for my nieces.  Should be lots of fun and they smell so yummy.

Okay...time to get things rolling again.  I need to make sure I am staying on top of the business.

I am excited to be active and ready to jump in again.  Lots of things to look forward to.

Also, I am excited to say was are moving soon.  This is going to allow us the opportunity to rethink some of the things for the business and start again.  Love that feeling.

New Scents on the Way

Thanks to my wonderful friend and mentor (in the real world) Valerie Lott, I have new scents on the way.  Her favorite scents are eucalyptus, tea tree and rosemary...nice and earthy.  Very much her.  One of the best things she taught me, well there were a lot, but one that I remember every day, is to take time to enjoy the small things. The scents you love, the moments that make you smile, and the even the ones you learn from.

So with a FaceBook post from her about what her favorite scents are, I decided to expand out.  I want to keep her happy after all.  Coming soon will be lotions, scrubs, oils and salts with a bit of an earthy tone to them.  As always I can mix and match whatever it is you want, now you just have a broader choice.

I have a wonderful weekend planned.  I am going to get started on the baking for 4th of July and see what scents that inspires in me.

New Stuff

So I had some time today and decided to try a few new scents. My new lotion product hasn't come in so this lotion is the same base I have been using. Which is amazing and I have to give credit to Elements. They have an incredible product.





So I started with a lotion (my favorite) and decided something fruity and islander like was in order. It is 100 degrees outside so that made sense to me. The end result...Raspberry Coconut Lotion. Light scent, not over bearing or with heavy notes either direction. A very light pink tint to the lotion itself makes it slightly feminine in nature.




The other product was all island and all about being steeped in luxury. Coconut Sugar Scrub. This says it all. To top it off it is all organic and vegan. Using organic cold pressed coconut oil and vegan cane sugar I put together this delectable delicacy for taking your shower to the islands.

Along the way today my darling Lola decided she needed in on the action. As always when I'm on a roll or in the middle of something (especially in the kitchen) she has her nose, and tongue, in the middle of it.

Welcome to A Touch of Magick

Good morning.  Today is the start of something wonderful.  I have had my business up and running for just a few weeks, and things are going well.  I have decided that part of what I am missing though is a connection.  A space where I can talk about how things are going, where I can meet others who are, kinda, like me. Those with a passion for the natural, the handmade and the luxurious feel that comes with creating your own bath and body products.  In my case perhaps those who also believe, just a bit in something more.

A Touch of Magick was born out of the need for something new in my life.  Something that helped my creative outlet feed itself.  I also needed better products for my skin and the skin of my boys.  Something not overly expensive and yet organic and healthy for them.  Hence the search.  Out of that search came the idea that I could make this.  Oils, salts, lotions, sugar scrubs...all of those things.  And I could infuse some positive thoughts and ideas into them as I was making them...a little magick so to speak.

This idea has expanded and been something for me to use when I need an outlet not just for creativity but for silence, away time and just fun.
